My research is focused on uncovering the fundamental mechanisms of heart transplant rejection and transplant tolerance, the goal of my team is to develop new and innovative protocols that allow the immune system to be therapeutically reprogrammed, such that the transplant patients could accept organ transplants without taking life-long immunosuppression drugs. I have published extensively in areas of heart transplantation, with over 20 original research papers, review articles and book chapters published, and some of the papers are published in high impact journals, which include Circulation, Immunity, Cellular & Molecular Immunology, J Heart Lung Transplant, American Journal of Transplantation, etc. I have been a speaker of numerous scientific meetings and he is routinely invited to speak about his research at leading institutions nationally and internationally. He has received many awards including American Society of Transplantation (AST) Young Investigator Award.
