Dr Yang has been a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Hong Kong since 2021, where he completed his PhD Degree in Surgery. He received his Master's Degree in Surgery and Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Medicine from Nanjing Medical University in 2017 and 2014. With a background in clinical medicine, he has been studying the research of liver cancer and liver surgery for over 10 years. Dr Yang's research focuses on two primary areas: elucidating the role of natural killer cells in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury, the liver tumor microenvironment, and tumor recurrence after curative surgery; as well as conducting translational studies on 3D bioprinting of the tumor microenvironment and hydrogel-based cancer treatment. By delving into these two domains, he aspires to make significant contributions towards advancing novel immunotherapies for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr Yang has been a member of the International Liver Transplantation Society and the Transplantation Society since 2017. His research work has been presented at many international conferences and published in the Journal of Hepatology, Gut, Cancer Research, Hepatology International, Drug Delivery, Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Cell Death and Disease, etc. For his outstanding work, he received multiple international awards including Best Abstract Award from the Asian Society of Transplantation,Young Investigator Award from the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver and from the International Liver Transplantation Society, and Poster of Distinction Award from the International Digestive Disease Forum.
